Located at the University Science Park in Antwerp, a pioneering hub for research and innovation in the health and environmental industry, Cosprof thrives in an environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. Cosprof was created to meet the growing demand for innovative, scientifically-backed, and personalized skincare solutions within the cosmetics industry.
Founded by Shanti Bhatta a chemist and pharmacist with a specialization in dermocosmetic product development and regulatory affairs. With extensive experience in over 20 pharmacies and the creation of more than 30 bespoke formulations for internationally established, indie and homegrown start up brands— Shanti has developed a deep understanding of the industry’s needs by identifying a significant gap in the market.Many skincare products relied on conventional functional ingredients, often considered harmful, and lacked true innovation. They contained minimal active ingredients and low-medium quality, failing to meet the needs of consumers—especially those with specific skin concerns—who were seeking safer, more effective, and tailored solutions.

The Expertise Behind Cosprof →
With a diverse professional background and a passion for innovation, Shanti Bhatta has built a career spanning key roles in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries:
- Lead R&D Cosmetic Pharmacist – Shanti manages the entire product development process, from formulation and regulatory compliance (PIF, CPNP) to stability testing, safety assessment, packaging selection, marketing briefings, labeling, scale-up production, and cost optimization. Her work led to the successful launch of multiple innovative products, increasing sales and expanding product catalogs, including private-label offerings.
- GMP & ISO Compliance Support – She gained extensive experience in pharmaceutical base production, focusing on quality control, quality system management (CAPA, deviations, risk assessments), supplier and subcontractor qualification, audit support, pharmacovigilance, cosmetovigilance, and batch record management.
- Pharmacist Manager at Multipharma – In her recent role, she led a team of pharmacists, ensured high-quality pharmaceutical care, and oversaw sales operations and compliance management within the pharmacy.
- Military Pharmacist Reservist – As a sublieutenant in the Belgian Defense, Shanti ensures the quality of medications, maintains operational readiness for missions, and provides scientific expertise on dermocosmetic products for specialized applications, such as burn wound care at the military hospital.
This extensive expertise allows her to understand consumer needs and develop safe and natural dermocosmetic products across various categories, including sun care, face and body care, hair care, and baby care.
